Here are a few important attributes of a good sports team leader:

  • Leaders stay positive: Capable sports leaders can identify the good in all things, both in victory and defeat. They can take control of their own emotions first and subsequently shift their mood.  Good team leaders do not point fingers at others. Rather, they discuss what went wrong with the team and its performance, to improve it for future games.
  • Leaders find a way to resolve a problem: Leaders tend to be quite proactive, and never let themselves or the team down. They continually try to overcome conflicts and challenges, to find the appropriate solutions.
  • Leaders encourage the rest of the team: Encourage is a must for the performance of a team and leaders know it. They always try their best to keep the other players motivated, and encourage them to perform as per their role to the fullest.
